About Totally Amped
Under the expert leadership of Founder and Director Sean Hopgood, Totally Amped is an electrical contracting company that specialises in residential and commercial projects throughout Torquay and the surrounding areas.
After completing his electrical apprenticeship, Sean soon had a vision of starting his own distinct type of electrical service.
Sean saw a gap in the market and realised there were a number of elements lacking in the existing local offerings at that time. These included straightforward and honest advice, a focus on service, reliability, being contactable at all times, and working to the ethos of ‘do it once, and do it right.’
That was Seventeen years ago and, since then, the company has grown into one of the largest and most trusted in the region. Because of the broad range of installations Totally Amped is involved in, it was vital for Sean to assemble a cohort of fully-qualified electricians with diverse skills, knowledge and experience. The team that exists today has exactly that, meaning no matter how obscure the project, Totally Amped have the expertise to handle it.

Sean (Hoppy)
Director & A Grade Electrician
The brains behind the business, Sean’s well recognised wherever he goes; feel free to chat to him about your non-functioning power point next time you see him having brunch at the local! The move to beachside Torquay from his childhood home in South Aus was a natural one for Sean, as was becoming an electrician, having now spent 24 years in the field. Sean enjoys managing a team of equally dedicated electricians and is often found on the job site belting out his favourite cheesy song, Lamb Chop – the song that never ends…give him the thumbs up next time you hear him, encouragements good for the soul.
Jack (Jacky Boy)
Supervisor & A Grade Electrician
A Geelong local and loving it, Jack is our Supervisor Extraordinaire and has 10 years of Electrical experience tucked into his toolbelt. Specialising in Commercial and Domestic projects, Jack keeps abreast of all new technology and enjoys sharing this knowledge with clients. Likening himself to a Carrot, (tall, skinny and with slightly unpredictable hair), Jack stands out amongst the other veggies in the patch, so look out for him on your next job site!
Drew (Barry)
A Grade Electrician
Having mastered all areas of electrical work over the past 18 years, Drew has turned his expertise to quality installations in new and custom homes. Growing up in Geelong, he still calls this fine region home and now enjoys raising a family here. Always rocking a smile, Drew has a hidden talent of being able to wriggle his right ear; but don’t make him laugh because then it won’t move!
Kris (Krisso)
A Grade Electrician
Originally from Melbourne, we’re thankful Kris headed west & became an integral part of the Totally Amped team. With 11 years experience in both Domestic and Commercial electrical construction, Kris’ knowledge is second to none. He saves his brains for work because he’s been known to do weird things like eat hot chips with icecream or heading out for a swim on a negative degree day in the rain!
Liam (Dennis)
A Grade Electrician
Having completed his apprenticeship with us, Liam has stayed on to become one of our valued qualified electricians and is a proactive, friendly team member who is always willing to roll up the sleeves to do any job that’s not necessarily glamourous! Growing up in Mount Gambier, Liam hopped the border and now happily calls the Bellarine Peninsula home. While always wide awake and on alert on the job site, the same can’t be said for Liam on the weekends – being known to fall asleep in the plane on the climb to height ready for a skydiving mission!
